The 129 Road Project (Packages 1 and 2), now officially named Vo Chi Cong Road, with a total length of 26.5 km, was handed over for technical traffic in October 2020. This project plays a vital role in the road transport infrastructure of Eastern Quang Nam and is also considered a strategic development of FVG Group.
The road serves as the main axis from Tam Thang Industrial Zone to Ky Ha Port, connecting to Chu Lai Airport, and creating a new arterial route running from Da Nang, through Hoi An, Duy Xuyen, Thang Binh, to Dien Hong Slope in Tam Ky.
Upon completion, the project significantly contributed to shaping the urban landscape, boosting socio-economic growth, services, and tourism in Quang Nam Province. Despite numerous challenges and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, after 18 months of construction, Road 129 was inaugurated for technical traffic as one of the 10 key projects celebrating the 22nd Party Congress of Quang Nam Province.
The Vietnam Coastal Road was approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 129/QD-TTg on January 18, 2010. The section running through Quang Nam was named Vo Chi Cong Road, stretching 69 km from Hoi An to Chu Lai Airport, divided into two phases. As of now, Phase 2 has completed land clearance for 26.4/26.5 km (99.6%).
